They do nothing but play cricket in the streets of Mumbai, but they can change the world in an instant when "rescuing" the local kids from the baddies. Together, they hatch a plan to find them a safe space to play cricket in. But when Salim goes home one day, he is surprised to find his mother (Kirron Kher) married to someone else. Without much ado, Salim's step-father Ashok (Ashish Vidyarthi) asks him to vacate his mother's room and instead asks him to install cupboard doors on the almirah which will double up as a room for Imran by night. But Imran is not happy with this arrangement, and he pays Salim a visit one day to tell him about how Ashok was once his friend. Salim feels he has lost all friends, and meets Imran at the same time to take him out for a beer to cheer him up. Ashok soon discovers that Salim is spending more time with Hashmi instead of looking after his studies, and arranges for Hashmi to be expelled from school if he continues. The two friends are now no longer on speaking terms as Salim has got used to making excuses for Imran, but it does not take long for their friendship to turn into love again. Their confidence in each other is further boosted when they discover that Imran's friend Aman (Shakil Ahmed) has been expelled for life following an altercation with a local gangster. They are still not done when they are asked to find the runaway Bhairavi (Vivan Bhatena) who has left her family in search of a better life in the city.
